Tough but nice, very foggy and windy at top but a good test.

Great hike, and views. Can be challenging on the clockwise route. Hiked this trail on several occasions in fair weather, and in winter ; of course there is the odd drizzle. Twice with our little dog, on a jogger leads at all times. He loves the hike in fair weather as we do too!

excellent walk, I've done this now a good few times, its such a magical place and great to experience this beautiful place. Go clockwise as there's a bit of a scramble at the top and allow 3 and half hours for the loop.

HikingGreat!MuddyRocky

Went clockwise as recommended by a few. I know anti-clockwise is also recommended but there are very steep rocks to the left of the lake as you approach the loop, especially the last hurdle to the top so personally it's more manageable to climb up those rocks than down. All along the top was soggy in places so definitely wear dark, waterproof shoes for this one. The descent was much more manageable. Views were stunning. Took many many breaks and the wind was wild yesterday so took around 4 hours in total.
