One of the best hikes in Ireland. Views are amazing and the walk is challenging but so worth it. I've done it like five times and my partner twice that.

Unfortunately the weather was not on our side the day we climbed, the conditions were very bad with high winds, rain and very limited visibility! (would not recommend in these conditions ) Although the climb still went great and we injured ourselves, path can be hard to spot at certain time so take care when ascending! The lake is great for a dip before/after but be warned it is icy cold!

Very impressive hike for little time..went yesterday and weather played a blinder. Amazing views over the green fields while ascending and the corrie is the icing on the cake to keep you travelling around the horseshoe and nice spot to take a dip on the way down. Keep on adventuring

Great trail with spectacular views of the lake and the Comeragh Mountains. The views of the farmlands are awesome. Hard at some points when you’ll need to climb rocks to get to the top, after which it becomes flat for 1 or 2 km. We had lovely weather with a small shower while on top, but gave us the most amazing rainbow over the Corrie. Recommended to bring proper footwear, I climbed it with trainers and was tricky and slippery at some points.

Great walk, bit demanding but very satisfying. Great views. Some steep ascents and descents requiring climbing

Ascended from the left of the lake. Very cloudy and wet slippery mud near the top. Good views but winds were dangerous. Might be easier from the right..

Great hike. Took approx 4 hours with lots of breaks. Anti clockwise. The piece just before the top involves climbing and is quite dangerous. Maybe not best suited for beginners but the views are incredible.

Difficult to find the correct path can be sloppy and uneven under foot. But so worth it for the views. Love this hike. The ridge can get very misty and foggy.

Did it in November, 2018. I took a bike in Waterford City Center and rode the bike to this mountain. It’s about 40km. The hike is not really difficult but you need to be in shape.

Did this in the end of November, waa very foggy, cloudy, 70% of track was just fog and clouds, we saw the lake only at the end of the track once got down the hill. Very dangerous on the top once U cant see whats next in 5-10 meters. Wind on the top was as in Siberia.... , will be back once weather be nice....
