This is a 12km walk which starts at the Bay Lough car park in The Vee in Co. Waterford. The route runs southwards on a stony path following the marker posts of the Avondhu way along a forest edge, before turning west. Keep on the stone path until you reach a stile and gate, and from here you have to go off the path and out onto the hilly terrain towards the summit of Knockalougha. The summit has a carn and standing stone. From this summit, take a slight southwest bearing and then west heading for the highest point on this walk, Knockshananullion, which i a very interesting summit with a trip pillar, stone arch and huge stone mound with shelter, possibly a burial mound in centuries past id imagine. From the summit, its a northwest bearing down the steep flanks towards the forest edge, where you will pick up a path which follows the forest edge and stone wall all the way to Bay Lake and then the car park. NOTE: The section from the forest edge to Bay Lake is overgrown and requires care, especially at a number of stream crossings. One crossing in particular was imapssinble so i climbed upstream a bit to get across and then went back down and threw in some stepping stones! (good citizen I am)  Really enjoyable walk, first section is on good wide path, second section is a bt more wild/
