Fantastic little walk with great views of the lake below and surrounding peaks! Highly recommended. P.s. Not sure how anybody could give it one star - probably because they didn’t do it!

Hiking

Beautiful hike for a nice view of Glencar lake and the valley. This is actually in Glencar, Leitrim not Manorhamilton. Can continue on the paved forest road up to the top of the mountain for a fantastic view of the bog and Benbulbin.

HikingOff trail

This is a combination of two walks. Starting at car park, it’s very steep for approx 2km to the gate. Path continues on, we follows Dooneen trail which ends where marked on map. Continue straight from here, and not left as suggested by sign post. From here, it’s off trail, boots definitely required. Found it tricky to follow map exactly but keep going until you reach river and it’s easy from there.

HikingBridge out

Very steep climb to the start of the 2 trails. Be cautious when the path finishes as this route takes you by the river and across the marshland which is quite treacherous. You might prefer to stick to the 2 paths mapped out with the black lines.

Hiking

Lovely home that starts with a steep climb. Probably not as long as it suggests.
