Nice quick and easy hike with a great pay off at the top. Very well maintained, you’d hardly need hiking boots on this. Good pair of trail runners will do fine.

This is a nice climb up on mainly stepped surfaces. We had a very windy day and the wives decided not to complete the last 500 metres. We had families and older people climbing up and the top wasn’t as windy as the climb up. The surface is generally good but do take proper foot wear. So many people hike in casual shoes .... and it’s Ireland, where it can rain at any time. Highly recommend this Hike.
