A stunning walk with breathtaking views of Connemara. The walk begins at Leam Bridge of "The Quiet Man" film fame. The Mile Orga affords spectacular views back over Glengowla and up to the Maumturks. From various advantage points on the Mile Orga one can view pasture and wetlands, drumlins, lakes, blanket bogs, outcropping rock, roadside grassy margins with diverse hedgerows, trees, wild flowers, ancient stonewalls, old iron gates, famine ridges, tiny pasture gardens that are enclosed with dry-stone walls as well as well maintained gardens. The built heritage includes The Old School House 1877 and adjoining Teacher's Residence, Galway Clifden Railway Line (1895-1935) and the Gate Keeper's Cottage, well maintained farmyards with out house stone buildings and the Quiet Man Stud. Walk this trail and you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Connemara landscape.

You can extend walk by 2-3km by continuing to the end of the straight stretch of road - some of what remains of the Galway to Clifden railway route.
