Lough Veagh Trail to Glenveagh Castle is a 5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Falcarragh, County Donegal, Ireland that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips.
This route is a nice stroll along the lake to the castle with nice views the entire way. The path is gravel, clearly marked, and quite open with no shade. You have the opportunity to take the bus back from the castle for €1.50 if you only want to do one way.
Gorgeous hike, I did it in the winter which isn't optimal if your primarily interested in the local flora/fauna but all the trails are very quiet and it feels at though the castle's grounds are your own. Need to go back in the spring and take a look at the gardens which were impressive even in the middle of January.
Closer to easy - a nice stroll along the lake to the castle - a nice view the entire way. Path is gravel and clearly marked. Quite open though with no shade. Opportunity to take the bus back from the castle for €1.50 if you only want to do one way.
Cher journal... En cette journée incertaine, on décide de parcourir les quelques kilomètres qui nous séparent de ce château intrigant. Une belle randonnée avec une ascension intéressante qui nous permet d'avoir une magnifique vue sur le château et le lac. Ça vaut le détour!
