Loop Walk Over Mullaghmesha is located near Bantry, Ireland. The trail is great for walking and normally takes a half day. It is also part of St. Finbarr's Way - a walk from Drimoleague to Gougane Barra. This can be either a loop walk, or for those with less stamina, a shorter hill walk with a car left in Castledonovan at the end of the walk. Start at Barnafulladh on the road going north from Catstledonovan, take a fairly steady climb to the top of Mullaghmesha Mountain (600m) which gives breathtaking views over the Kerry mountains and Cork coastline. You then head down by Coomanore Lakes and down a pleasant track to the village of Castledonovan where there is an Alpaca farm to visit if you still have the energy!

Great outing. I did it in clockwise direction starting at castle Donovan. Road first and then up the hill. Very well signposted. Top is exposed and boggy but great views. Took me 2.5 hours to do loop but allow 3 hours for relaxed walk with stops etc. Road section back down hill to castle Donovan has plenty of black berries to eat in august!
