Actually only hiked a little bit of this, mostly to go kayaking on the glacier. It was rad. Just wanted to flex on that.

I think this is really more of an easy hike than a moderate one. Short distance and no elevation to speak of. That said, on a beautiful day this hike is a lot of fun. Great photo opportunities and a good chance to walk up and touch a glacier. Consider walking off the main path closer to the lake on your way back to get the best photos!

Quick, easy walk. Lots of tour groups hiking on the glacier. Can’t get very close unless you ignore the warning signs.

Easy trail to take to see some glaciers closer to Reyk. Really pretty and worth hitting up.

Awesome, and easy. The walk towards the glacier was really nice. I would like to have gone further on to the glacier but without any gear it was too dangerous. I literally touched a glacier for the first time of my life.

This is an amazing glacier hike. Beautiful glacier features. Does require a guide if not experienced with glaciers. Crampons are also required for the hike. 20 min walk from parking lot to front of glacier as it carves the valley and empties into a lagoon. Glacier featured in Chasing Ice documentary.

beautiful hike, my first glacier. we pretty much just followed the hikers with spikes that laid out a trail for us in just boots, but we got a good distance up before it was just dangerous to continue. breathtaking

Awesome. Totally different from what you think. You get the sense you are in the middle of nowhere. May bother some people.

the trail part of the hike was very easy. We went in October and saw some great rainbows on the walk back, but the real fun was going up on the glacier. we brought our own micro spikes and hiking poles and went without a guide. there's so much traffic on the glacier that it was easy to follow the paths of the tour groups without following behind them. crossing the medial moraine was a bit more complicated, had to go pretty far up, but definitely worth it (to us)

Highly recommend the glacier tours. Well worth the money to climb on this beautiful piece of nature.

Great walk up on the glacier. All you need are some yak Trax to follow the trail.

This area is amazing. Should you want to walk onto the glacier, crampons are a must. Great ice climbing. But hire a local guide who knows the best spots.
