Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 and the road that leads to Þórsmörk Road 249. The waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls and natural wonders in Iceland. The waterfall drops 60 m (197 ft) and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull. One of the interesting things about this waterfall is that visitors can walk behind it into a small cave.

Amazing! Easy walk and fun to climb to bottom of falls and get drenched.

Incredible to hike behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall and then hike ~500 m into a grotto/mini canyon containing the nearby Gljufrabui waterfall.

Beautiful extremely easy walk. AND BRING YOUR WATERPROOFS!!! The falls are breathtaking but large and the trail runs close to them. Would definitely recommend to everyone regardless of skill or comfort level.

Bring waterproof gear! Both are amazing but Gljufrafoss is really something special and less people seemed to take the walk down that way.

Once in a lifetime:) loved it!

Beautiful waterfall that is just an easy walk. Behind waterfall closed due to ice. I would have rated higher but a lot of people and many totally disregarded the closed signs and walking in areas that were closed. So sad because these kind of people ruin it for others without even caring.

fairly easy, more walk than hike, northern waterfall required getting feet wet

beautiful waterfall and super easy loop. very touristy, so best chances are probably going super early in the morning to avoid buses.

Incredible waterfall and such a cool experience to be able to walk behind it. After you leave continue down the path to the right (away from parking) to a small, even more impressive hidden waterfall! You have to walk through a small cave to get to it. It was my favorite waterfall in Iceland.

Very fun experience to go behind this big waterfall. But even better... hike down the path to Gljufrafoss! You have to step on some stones over a small creek into a cave to get to these hidden falls but it’s worth it. Loved visiting both falls.

As others have mentioned, you must pay for parking and display the ticket in your window. After paying, there is a short walk for a good view of the falls The mist from the falls will get you wet, especially if you go behind the falls. I HIGHLY recommend taking the short walk to the other waterfall and a gorge. There is a high waterfall in the gorge but it was crowded. I recommend waiting and going into the Gljúfrabúi gorge. It takes about 15-20 seconds to get into the gorge; however, the stream will get your feet wet.

Beautiful falls. The best was definitely the waterfall in the cave. Watch out some of the rocks are a little unstable and the water is cold!

Loved this trail! Gorgeous views all around! Little creeks and and small waterfalls along the trail and near the end there’s a little creek cave you can walk up to another small waterfall. Absolutely gorgeous!

Beautiful, short walk. Pretty easy, but there are some wet, rocky areas to navigate that I noticed others had some difficulty with. If you can manage it, it is worth it. Don't forget rain gear or a change of clothes! Maybe try going in the early morning to avoid the crowds and make sure to walk down to the other falls as well.
