This is an amazing trail in the Þórsmörk Valley. It starts from Húsadalur and joins Langidalur. This valley belongs to the Merkurrani Area, north of River Kross. After that, it goes next to the Tindfjöll mountain ridge, which runs south from the glacier and volcano Tindfjallajökull. The next summits are Svínatungur and Rjúpnafell. The second is one of the steepest mountains in the valley, The path then goes back to Langidalur and joins the Valahnúkur mountain.
Had a perfect weather day in 5/11/19 and we were booked for Volcano Huts so we were told this was a great hike. Hands down, this was an awesome hike! We made it to the top of Tindfjall and it was beautiful view. The peak was steep with some scree. Going down was harder then going up but so worth the effort. I would not do this in the rain but our weather was great. Do this hike if you can.
Amazing views. I started in the red trail instead and then change to the orange for more 360• views. It was amazing
