Very nice trail with amazing views over the islands. We saw tons of puffins. Did this hike on a relatively windy (35km/h) day, might not be for everyone as the wind was blowing heavily at the top. Hence, wouldn’t recommend this on a very windy day.

Stunning view on a clear day - you can see the mainland glaciers, most of the islands and a large variety of bird life. The hike is short and relatively easy if one is not afraid of heights. It’s rather steep at the beginning - made a lot easier by ladders and steps. I walked it with my 13-year old son (experienced hiker and scout), we both found it breathtakingly beautiful and a very nice stroll. After taking some pictures from the top, we took time to rest, sunbathe and enjoy the scenery with our our eyes and senses. That will stay with us for a long time.

Fun hike that’s short but intense. Summit views will not disappoint. Must do on your visit to southern Iceland.

My boyfriend who hates hiking says this is his favorite hike :) We went on a sunny day. Only go on a sunny day! There are short bursts of energy where you climb steep ladders and stairs and then traverse narrow edges of the mountainside while holding onto chains and ropes. The entire hike is varied, with a fantastic view around every corner--the blue ocean, the red and white town, the port, mountain goats grazing, meadows of green, the volcanoes, the entire island! This was one of the most fun and varied hikes I have ever done :) *Only go on a sunny day.

I chose a bad day to hike, wet and cold with zero visibility at the top. Would definitely go again for the view!
