Light and extremely colorful trail due to the magic sulphurous landscape of Landmannalaugar. Because of the constant changing landscape the beginning of the return on the way down)from Brennisteinsalda can be a bit random.

WARNING: Directions are inaccurate. This hike does not begin near Rangárþing ytra; it begins 2 hours away in Landmannalaugar in the highlands, which you must traverse F roads to get to. I’m just writing this review to clarify this fact, so other hikers don’t become disappointed like I just did when I arrived in Rangárþing ytra :(

Most amazing and unforgettable experience. Mind blowing scenery. Difficult hike - physically challenging climb through the lava field (like a scene from the Lord of the Rings) and to the summit. Unpredictable weather. Did it last week of June, not sure it ever gets any warmer than 8 degrees Celsius though. Do not miss this one!

I did this one by mistake (ooops). I'd say not the best around there, but an easy one. You might want to include sudurnamur for example.
