HikingGreat!

Beautiful views, walking uphill most of the time, but not challenging if you have proper shoes.

I agree with others stating it’s a bit difficult. I hike fairly often and I wouldn’t say it was the hardest but it definitely isn’t easy. The last mile of muddy stairs was the most difficult. Be careful, but it was amazing !

Incredible hike, but not moderate whatsoever. It should be rated Hard. It was pretty treacherous at times, with countless makeshift stairs and muddy footholds that were very difficult to use. On our way back down, at least 10 people approached us absolutely gassed, asking us how much hike was left. Also people afraid of heights should avoid this trail because the closer you get to the top, you’ll encounter a series of super narrow paths, which are flanked by extremely steep mountainsides. All that being said, the views were magnificent. The work was worth the reward.

Amazing hike, I hike often and this was the hardest hike I’ve ever experienced. It should definitely be rated “hard” solely based on the last third of the hike. Not only is it extremely steep, but it’s very high up with some missing steep stairs and a ton of mud. At times, you are on a pretty skinny trail with very intense/steep sides down the mountain. It’s still doable it’s just not moderate. Including the walk from parking without the pass from the bottom one way (friends picked us up from the lot on the way down yay) it took us 3 hours and it was about 6 miles per Fitbit.

Muddy , lots of stairs , took us 2.5 hours w a break at the top. Pack plenty of water and sunscreen if it’s sunny because most of the trail is open

This is NOT a moderate trail. Beautiful views but muddy and straight up a narrow trail with a lot of stairs at second half. Definitely not family or dog friendly if you choose to go to top. Now if it rains...good luck. Again, amazing views. Been there, done that.

Loved it. The views are amazing. The climb is a workout based on your fitness level but those who maintain a basic level of fitness should be able to finish with frequent breaks. The trail was muddy and slick in many spots. Quality hiking shoes were helpful. Overall, a great hike and absolutely worth it.

Incredible views almost the entire length of the trail. It does feel long due to multiple small peaks prior to reaching the end, but so worth it. This hike is breath taking.

Nice hike. Challenging enough for a workout, but easy enough for most people, I think. It rained a little, but it was mostly dry today

This was an incredible hike. A great introduction to ridge hiking and the view was amazing! Not as windy at the top so I was not as scared as in previous hikes. The steps are challenging and steep- a great hike nonetheless!

HikingGreat!

I want to leave an honest review here for those of you who maybe workout 3x a week but are not avid hikers. The hike starts out paved (yes, I got this!). Then the pavement ends about .25mi in. No worries, this path is wide and the scenery is gorgeous. About 1.5 miles in you reach the stairs... well of course you viewed the pictures, you knew there were going to be stairs so it’s fine. About 2 flights of stairs later it’s not fine... you thought the stair master was hard? Try adding uneven steps with the constant threat of falling of the side of a mountain. When I say I was breathing heavy, I mean HEAVY. But it’s fine by now you’re over 2mi in you’re at the top right? Wrong. You just now realize that tiny little trail you’ve been staring at in the distance atop what looks like a mountain far far away is actually the peak of your trail, yes the trail you’re standing on. You thought those first two sets of stairs were hard? Think again. These stairs make those past stairs look like the stairs to your college apartment. These new stairs are like running up a 50-story building when the power goes out. I bet you’re thinking this is where she gave up, right? Wrong. I made it. To the top. Slowly with breaks, lots of breaks. And my heart was pounding, palms sweating but I made it. And honestly you can too. It’s worth it, so worth it. When I say the views are unreal I mean it. You have to see it with your own eyes. The hike will hurt and it will make your heart beat out of your chest at times. But man is it worth it. And for those of you wondering... yes the way down is just as scary as the way up.

Don’t miss this hike!! We have hiked all sides of the island and this one is worth your effort! If you can plan it, give it a day or two to dry and choose a blue sky day. You won’t believe the view.
