Getting There

It’s a steep, enjoyably challenging track down and the bottom is such a treat! There’s a gorgeous waterfall that trickles down to another small waterfall that’s about a hot tub sized natural pool area and that trickles down to another fall with a deep pool with big ropes as well as multiple points on every side with areas (marked with a white patch of spray paint) where you can jump off. The climbs to the jumping points range from easy to medium to hard. Swim and jump at your own risk.

This is pretty grueling for preschool age kids. The waterfall is way fun though. There’s a fork at the 2.0 km mark. If you go left it’s 0.3km but you have to climb down big rocks. If you go right it’s 0.7 km but a lot easier - once you’re down by the stream you follow it back up to the waterfall, but it’s easy to miss the way up going back despite a ton of colored ties on the tree.

Was a workout but super awesome! Hike down was a little slippery at times but my 4 & 7 year old rocked this hike. Littlest things as in carrier on the way up but because she was tired. Kids loved the waterfalls and it was definitely worth it.

Fun trail. We did it with my 3 boys, 12, 8, 5. The 5 year old was pretty wiped out half way up the scramble.

Awesome hike! Not hard, super easy to find parking and the water is refreshing once you get to the waterfalls. It’s pretty deep and safe to jump off the rope. Highly recommend! :)

Loved this trail! It’s a fun quick hike with a gorgeous waterfall swimming hole at the end but you have to climb down the rocks with a rope to get in the water if you want. There’s a rope swing too that’s fun to jump to and climb up. The only “down side” is that the climb out and back to your car is almost all up hill, but it’s definitely a great hike.

Trail is mostly covered except for the first 10 minutes of the hike. Cardiac hill was not as bad as I thought it would be but difinitely a good workout. Make sure to bring extra water especially if you have children with you. It does get rocky, slippery and muddy after cardiac hill. The waterfall wasn't flowing as much but people could still swim or jump in on a rope. We decided to go to the very top of the waterfall and found small pools of water for the kids to play and have fun.

really fun trail but we are here during the coronavirus pandemic and so there are basically no tourist right now. The falls are really pleasant to swim in and to swing into from above, but I would think that they are probably packed with people during normal conditions. If you can find a relaxed weekday to come along I would strongly recommend some water shoes for when you jumping because the rocks in the shallow area or pretty rough on your feet.

Cool trail. Good amount of challenge but definitely one of the easier “hard” hikes on the island. Cool waterfalls at the end with some good jumps. Kids as young as 6 completed the trail. Would do again!

I love this trail; not too hard, not too easy, just right! There is plenty of shade, plenty of scenery. The beginning of the trail comes to a fork, you can either go to the lower or upper part. Both eventually meets up about 1.5 mile in. If you choose the upper trail, you’ll come to view the vast beauty of the Waimano trail. You be able to see all of Pearl City. If you decide to take the lower route, you will come to a stream that is calming, the sound of the water is so soothing, almost makes you forget that you’re on a hike. I can see myself doing this hike over and over again.

Great trail with a few waterfalls. My last hike here though the waterfall wasn’t flowing, it was pretty dry. The hike back is steep but a great workout. You can check out my vlog on this hike on YouTube at Deepbreathmob.
