Gets muddy in spots, but the view is amazing. An easy hike, but exciting in areas that keeps it interesting.

Starts off with not a lot of views but pretty foliage of vines and trees, gets a little muddy but at the very end it opens up to an amazing view of Manoa and a nice grass spot to sit down, lay down. Dog friendly.

Beautiful view of the valley, to Honolulu. Not flat, lots of roots. I was glad I wore my hiking boots because my ankles roll easy. Loved this hike, especially the first clearing at the top.

good easy climb, tho the trail does need some maintenance. wear pants, at the top are thousands of scratch ferns.

Solid trail, mostly covered. It was muddy and a bit over grown in the end. I was kinda swinging around the tree like poles. Beautiful view and not difficult at all, just bring boots.

Very muddy but doable! The top part of the trail does have rough scrub bushes. Beware but doable. Have fun!

Took 70 minutes in muddy weather. Highly recommended for those looking to avoid crowds and if you don’t mind getting your socks wet. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re bringing kids and it’s been rainy. Could be good to bring pants as the end gets narrow and legs swiping the bushes for 5 min

Beginning of hike is fine. But bailed half way through the steep part. Saw no rope. With rope, may have done it. Without rope, wife nixed the hike. And i agreed with her. Not worth getting hurt. I dont think moderate rating should include high risk of serious injury. Instead, continued hike upwards, about 0.3 miles to a kind of overlook. Too much overgrowth for an overlook, but had an interesting grassy meadow and some sort of small metal altar.

Great trail! Lots of roots to walk over. It seems to be pretty muddy. The ferns are over grown near the end. I'm not sure how anyone got lost. The ferns are pokey so you might want hiking pants! The two open areas have great views of the valley.

Great trail. Not highly trafficked early morning. Muddy and slippery in places. Lots of tree roots early on and some overgrown places in the last quarter.

Great trail and the views from the top are spectacular. As you get towards the top, the weeds/plants are covering the trail slightly, but don’t give up. The top of the mountain/trail is near.

Great 2 ish mile shaded hike. Trail is easy to follow and not hard even when it’s a little muddy

We ended up doing this hike after finding out that the Manoa Falls hike was closed. Nice and easy hike. Not overly crowded which is what my partner and I like. We didn’t have bug spray but it wasn’t an issue. The views are nice but not sure if we would do it more than once.

Upslope rocky road in the beginning, gets pretty veiny. Watch ya step. First lookout had a nice flat top, perfect view, best place to propose to ya honey girl for you nature enthusiasts. Trail gets pretty narrow like a ridge with ferns complimenting each side so it isn’t too intimidating. The second lookout was bushy off the wide with a tall bench smack dab in da middle. Last and third lookout was the trail’s endzone stationed with a wooden post. Decent 2 person hike. Bring a hat. Gallon water. Cute beginner trail. Would come back :-)

Great hike but terrible marked. be so careful we got lost a lot

Another decent trail. A large portion of it is shaded with tall trees on both sides. Good for kids. It’s not too challenging. I only really saw one good place to fly my drone for some good scenery shots and that’s the clearing at the top with the divot In it. Right before the clearing with the bench on it.

There wasn’t another soul on the entire hike (I did it on a Monday morning). There were a couple spots I’d wished I had hiking shoes but my running shoes were fine 99% of the way. Roots cover most of the trail so footing wasn’t a problem. I would rate it easy to moderate. Not too muddy despite it having rained in the morning. The view from the top was pretty good but as others have stated there are better views around. Do this hike if you you’re looking for something quick and want to get away from the crowds!

Super cute lil bounce between the valley and a dwarf ridge. Great for a 2 hour jaunt and easy enough for kids n dogs, although I have neither
