Good trail. Not too muddy depending on recent rain (but still muddy). Trail is not closed (April 2021). Manageable with a 3 yo. The last part after the bench is overgrown a bit, no big deal to skip it.

The five stars are for one of the worse trails on Oahu. Pu'u Pia trail, Manoa Falls, and Kolowalu trails --- all in Manoa, on Oahu are CLOSED!!. Boulders and rockslides!! You will be given a huge monetary fine for entering. Also, if you need to be rescued the City & County of Honolulu will give you the bill for the rescue! In the Fall & Winter months Manoa has a lot of rain so these trails are extremely dangerous to hike because they are muddy & full of mosquitoes. BEWARE: there are homeless people living along the trails. The area has many rental units and a high rate of burglaries. Vehicles are often broken into. Suggest you hike other trails on Oahu. Muddy trail, but soo much fun! Good for a bit older kids (we were there with a 9yo, perfect age). Gorgeous views both on the city and the mountains.

Done this many times. Just before the top is a path called Lams Trail. About 200 meters but very steep and challenging. Spikes and stick no problem. Easy trail to waterfalls.

We did this hike a while ago and enjoyed it. It is quite muddy and somewhat overgrown in places but still a nice walk. If you stay in the main trail it is a relatively easy hike with a decent view of the city at the end. We did go down the side trail to get to the waterfall which is challenging - it is short but muddy and very steep so be prepared to get on your hands and knees on the way down and scramble / use your arms to pull yourself up on the way back up. I would also be mindful of double checking any of the ropes if you decide to use them (we didn’t have any issues and only needed one of them). A great adventure if you’re up for getting a bit muddy.

Loved this trail but super muddy and slippery at points and the trail def needs some overall maintenance. I attempted to go down to the falls as a previous person had reviewed but it was way to steep and muddy - maybe next time!

Good trail for a really quick go. The woods are lush, a bit muddy but manageable. Views aren’t incredible but still quite fun.

Amazing!!! Glorious muddy fun. Jurassic park mania. If you want next level awesomeness when you get to 6ft stump go right dooooown hill for awhile and you end up at manoa falls. So so fun and magical all of it.

Amazing view and felt like I was in the jungle in Jurassic park. Very muddy but to be expected in Hawaii.

Randomly did this hike since Manoa is still closed. Great hike. My 8 year old had a blast even when it started raining and you get some decent views along with some jungle!
