I would definitely rate the difficulty of this hike as moderate due to the amount of actual climbing you have to do. We rented kayaks and it took us about 15 mins to get to the island. I suggest taking your time and exploring all sides of the island. There’s a great beachy spot for swimming. The top is fantastic with plenty of room to sit and enjoy the view.

This hike was short and sweet. Sucked paddling out from the beach to switch into climbing gear and hike to the top. A lot of rock scrambling but the views are stunning.

A challenging reward after a fun paddle out there. Saw a big ol Monk seal on the beach and so many beautiful birds around. I would encourage taking your time getting to the top as it’s fairly steep but definitely worth it.

Awesome little trail! Although it is short (only 5-15 minutes to the top!) it is not easy. Very dusty, easy to lose footing, and a tiny bit of free climbing/ropes at the very end. (Easy to me would be like... Makapu’u lighthouse trail or Manoa Falls.) Views at the top are wonderful! Highly recommend and can’t wait to get out here again. Btw, we stand up paddle boarded to get out here! ig @pieandthesky

The hike to the top of this island is a bit intense but doable. It starts gradual but quickly turns into a rope climb at the very top. If anyone is interested in kayaking out there and then hiking to the top, use the company I work for called Active Oahu. You can look us up online, we have the cheapest kayak/paddle board rentals on the north shore. And don’t forget to ask for Abigail :)

This hike definitely isn’t easy! There are a lot of places you kind of to “rock climb” up.. but it’s definitely worth it! It’s so beautiful

Definitely wouldn’t label this trail as “easy” as there are some sections with scrambling/climbing required. Fairly steep but short hike

Walked over about 90 minutes before low tide. Water got to about chest high. Hike is more of a scramble. I would classify it as moderate. Was warned by locals not to trust the rope at the top, didn’t need it.

Swam out to the island. Was a blast! The hike up is interesting. More of a scramble/rock climb specially near the top but it’s short and the view is worth it! Definitely a must do if you can!

This trail is NOT easy. If they change the rating I will change it to a five star! Fun hike all the way to the top! Beautiful views and kayaking out was pretty easy as well! NOT for kids OR dogs! There is a small rope area right at the top but honestly it's easier just to use the rock itself. Yes, this hike involves rock climbing

Very beautiful. Super steep. You have to use ropes to climb up. Be prepared have some shoes. It’s exhausting. It’s a very difficult trail. It’s not recommended for kids or dogs! Can be very dangerous.

Great trail. We decided to swim over there (ca. 550m) during low tide, but I would only do that if you're a trained swimmer. The trail is short and you have to climb on the way up, but it is worth it.

Fast little climb with an amazing view! All Trails, please change this from Easy to Moderate or maybe even Difficult. Only two of us in our group could do it, as it was very steep and slippery, and included some precarious spots. July 4, 2018

Amazing views at the top. We kayaked over it was pretty quick. We had water shoes and we were just fine. The trail was not super obvious but there’s multiple ways up/down. The water was clear and beautiful ! This is a must do here in Oahu!
