Multiple parts of the trail are out due to fallen trees from today’s rain, I’m sure they will be cleared soon. The worst part is in my recording - about 2/3rds through the trail, heading counter clockwise, before you hit the stream. I was able to scramble uphill and around it.

Fun trail but it’s easy to get off on side trails. Make sure you’re starting early enough so you’re not racing the sunset like I was! Seems like a great spot to be able to explore more! Good hiking shoes was helpful and there was some muddy places

Try going counterclockwise to save the stream and waterfalls fir last.

Incredibly muddy today due to rainy season so be sure to wear proper footwear, possibly spikes in some spots, long pants and insect repellent. What doesn’t seem to be discussed here is the waterfall if you go off a side trail on the Kanealole Stream to a beautiful waterfall spot. (Photo uploaded) If you take the Kanealole trail you will find the waterfall 1.5 miles in from the Makiki Nature Park parking lot.

Not the prettiest, but pretty good hike. We went clockwise, I think counter clockwise would definitely have been easier.

We started tracking the hike at the parking lot. It was an overcast / rainy day so it was very muddy. It was roughly 3.8 miles from the parking lot, took about 2 hours 20 mins. Hoping to come back during the dry season to hike again.

It was a little muddy but an easy hike - always looking for places to bring the kids. Will definitely bring them to this hike.

Highly recommend you take the left fork going in since that takes you on the muddy trail first. Much easier to manage mud going up versus down. The trail coming back then will be much dryer, no mud today there because of good sun exposure. A 4 because good for exercise but not very scenic, No lovely destination with waterfalls etc.and almost no views.
