Aug. 7th- still pretty muddy, slippery. Saw a bunch of people on the trail with their pets. Definitely more of a nature trail. Still nice!

Was a great hike, one of the best parts was the friendly pig in The parking lot. He’ll come right up to you and squeal delightfully when you pet him. We grabbed a few mountain apples on the hike and brought them back to him which he enjoyed thoroughly.

Parking is to the left right before the gate. The gate is closed but there is a trail off to the side that leads to the heard if the trail. I suggest making a left when deciding which side of the loop to do first unless, you want an uphill hike then make the right. Make sure to apply bug repellent especially if mosquitos are attracted to you.

Rainy, so just a little slippery and a little muddy in spots, but not bad. I personally enjoy hiking in the rain. :)

It was absolutely beautiful! This hike isn’t hard at all. I like how the path was very clear and it took all the guessing out of which way to go. This is my new favorite hike.

Nice shady trail, went right at the fork. Lots of roots. Worth it to take a detour to Tantalus lookout, but you have to go off the official trail from the Round Top Drive parking lot if you want to stay in the shade and off the road.

Really great for dogs! Very shaded for 99% of the trail with only about 100ft of the trail that’s exposed to the sun. Plenty of places to drink water on one semi-circle of the loop trail.

Trail was great. We started at the Makiki Valley trailhead on Tantulas. When we got back the front drivers window of our car was smashed and my wallet was stolen from the trunk of the car. Be careful!!
