Please consult the park's website before visiting, or check here: https://hawaiitrails.hawaii.gov/trails/#/trail/manoa-falls-trail/225 A short hike to the base of Manoa Falls in the Manoa Valley in Honolulu, Oahu, the Manoa Falls Trail winds through a lush Hawaiian tropical rainforest filled with movie scene locations from Jurassic Park and LOST. The trail can be quite muddy, so proper closed toe footwear is recommended. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed in the pool at the base of the waterfall but the views alone justify this easy hike. This area receives significant rainfall so check the weather before going to avoid flash floods. The trailhead is a short drive from downtown Honolulu and can be accessed at the end of Manoa Road. There is a $5 fee to park. Visitors might also be interested in the nearby Lyon Arboretum and Botanical Garden which preserves endangered Hawaiian plant species.

Family friendly. Very muddy. Fun, easy hike through dense jungle with lots of secret nooks and crannies to appreciate. Portions of the TV show LOST were filmed in this area. Get an early start to beat the crowds and stop in at Morning Glass Coffee on the way!

Kids loved this one - super crowded but it was easy and fun, and who doesn’t love a waterfall?

Go to spot for tourists. Crowded but it is a beautiful trail with amazing foliage and the falls are quite pretty. Easy hike for almost all fitness levels. I bring my dog here. I find it way less crowded in the afternoon/evening so that’s my preferred time to go. IG: @pieandthesky

Trail overall is mediocre. It would be easy if not for the landslides and it being very mudding because of the rain Manoa valley has been having these past few days.

We were in Hawaii 2/15-2/21 & the trail was closed the entire time. Such a bummer. I read it was closed on weekdays so we had planned around that, but both weekends it remained closed due to hazardous conditions? Definitely check ahead

This is an easy trail for almost anyone. But, be sure to bring your mud shoes or go barefoot, if that's your thing. The mud is unavoidable the entire trail. Growing up is not bad, but coming down was a bit more challenging for some. There's a high risk for slipping on the way down, so grab a stick to help you keep stable. You may find many discarded at the entrance, so get it on your way up. Most people will practice good trail etiquette for those who move faster, but there was a few who refused to let others around them. Just be patient. The scenery is amazing and there's several spots to take good pictures. Parking is $5.
