Parking can be a bit difficult. Did this hike this morning and as other have said it is a paved road all the way until you turn off and take the steep decline down to the stream and falls. If you are reasonably athletic and it is relatively dry you can make it down the hillside. Just be careful and take your time and use the ropes. Our friend lost her footing and slid half way down the hill. She was fine other than some scrapes but it could hav likely been worse. Enjoy. The falls are excellent and we saw several locals jumping from the cliffs into the deep pool.

This IS NOT kid friendly. It IS NOT safe. This is NOT for beginners. This is a hike for experienced hikers for sure. We’re not beginners and it was still difficult. We took our 6 kids because of the other reviews. We could have turned back. This I know but we didn’t. We made the wrong choice. NO JOKE we left with some kids in tears, 1 dislocated shoulder and another slipped and fell so we called the ambulance and found out he has a collapsed lung. Please use caution when going. The walk up is super easy a toddler could do it. Getting down to the falls is a choice you’ll have to make. The falls are pretty BUT we have been to other falls and this one is just okay compared to Monoa falls etc... Oh and very limited parking and it’s on private property. Cops patrol so don’t park near a fire hydrant. 10 ft away is the law.

Mostly paved going up and really steep/muddy going down to the falls, unable to make it down to the falls with a new to hiking 6 year old and puppy. Will definitely try again once she gets more experience.

Amazing trail! The downed power lines and washed out roads give it a post-apocalyptic feel. Easy to get around the gate and up to the waterfall.

Probably my favorite waterfall on the island. Absolutely beautiful and the hike is not bad at all. Getting to the falls from the trail can be difficult when muddy but it is completely worth it!

If you can't pull yourself up out of a hole with ropes don't do this hike! If you aren't ok with getting covered in mud, don't do this hike. If power lines scare you.... Don't do this hike. If climbing up the side of a waterfall scares you don't do this hike. If you're clumsy use extra precautions It was fun! It was beautiful! The water was ICE cold!

Great trail, parking was limited but available. The entrance to the trail head was a bit hidden, it’s to the right before you get the the gate. The majority of the hike is a paved road. The decent down to the water fall is very slippery. There are some ropes to assist, but can be difficult for younger kids. The waterfall is great, swimming is a possibility, overall this was a very fun like.

Power lines are down along the path but can be easily avoided. You’ll follow the cement trail until you reach the end and see some hanging ropes on a dirt path to the right.
