Great beginner hike. Last time we went there was a lady sitting in a white Toyota Tacoma watching with phone in hand. Cops giving ticket on your way out.

You should go early. No cops around 9am but when we are going back cops waiting outside :( we didn't know what to do so we stayed few yards before the gate. Luckily the people we saw swimming at the falls came back and we told the that the cops waiting outside. One of the guy says he'll talk to the cops so we just follow them. Just just gave us the warning says kalihi falls closed and the one in Kaneohe. It was a relief! Over all easy trail. Going down the falls is muddy and slippery so use the ropes. Watch out for the cops they are waiting outside the gate.

Tried to go today. There was a cop there but wasn't too sure if he was leaving. There is also a huge plywood on the left side coming in that says "HIKE IS CLOSED."

Cops are actively handing out tickets on this hike-especially on the weekends. Not related to COVID any more, just for trespassing on gov’t property.

Easy trail up, but be careful going up/down to the pond. Ropes available but extreme mud and sliding so have good tred. Spent a while helping a distressed hiker who couldn’t get back up to the trail because of mud, lots of pushing and pulling. But very easy if dry

Awesome beautiful hike. It’s a very simple easy hike until the last portion. You walk on an old road for about half a mile and then you turn right and go down a heinous muddy steep area. I got incredibly muddy. Always be respectful to the community when you go there and please do not pollute any trash :)

It's closed. There's people sitting in a tent at the trail head keeping you out. They looked like residents. They had a big sign that said "trail closed, no parking here" :-( So we turned around.

Park before the wood bridge and walk to the end of the road. Across from the house you’ll see a trail wrapping around the fence. Cut through there and get back on the the paved “road.” There are power/optics lines down but you can easily avoid them and step over. You’ll be fine... it’s totally ok. If it’s raining you’ll be crossing over a lot of water and eventually find the trail to the right that drops down to the falls. Use the ropes, take your time. It’s muddy & slippery (I went as it was raining.) I’d also recommend you up the fall, the rocks aren’t slick and the pool up there is about knee high. It’s beautiful. If you aren’t very active or have kids I wouldn’t go. You’ll need some upper body strength with the ropes, etc.

Power lines are down. The trail kinda got flash flooded at the end so it was a little sketch. You’re gonna get to your thighs in water. Don’t climb waterfall if it is raining it got pretty sketch coming down with it overflowing. But AWESOME hike if it hasn’t been downpouring. We parked about .2 away so not bad!!

This hike is pretty easy and fun. Like everyone says, the climb down to the waterfall pool is a bit muddy but there’s ropes to hold on to. Climbing back out is a little steep as expected but not a big deal. I was also able to fly my drone around for a bit. Pretty fun. There’s also a rope alongside the waterfall I noticed. Once at the top of the waterfall you will see a 2nd waterfall a little further down. I need to go back there and explore that area.

The hike up is pretty easy. The hike down to the waterfall can be a bit tricky because it is super muddy. There are ropes to hold onto though. The first pool with the first waterfall you come to has several jumping spots. There are a couple by the rope on the left side. People were jumping from various spots on the right side as well. We went up the rope to the top of the falls and explored the second pool with another waterfall up there. An amazing spot. Will be back again!
