Judd Trail is a 1 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This hike has only side street parking. Please use caution in preventing theft by taking valuables with you.
We are tourists from Minnesota. The trail was doable with my group who were mostly inexperienced hikers. The trail was very muddy, but we did not notice any bugs. Out of 6 hikers, four of us took a stubble/slip in the mud. Be sure to record your hike on the app, because the trail isn’t marked very well and it is easy to stray from the trail and not realize it. Definitely a hike you should wear boots for or good traction shoes; it was very slick. Not too busy with people and we went on a Friday afternoon.
We went in early January. The trail was very muddy although we persevered until the falls (would have been pretty easy without kids and with hiking boots). We found a swimming hole and falls that were beautiful (but maybe not the ones in these pictures?!), and once there we crossed the stream and then were shown a super easy and quick way directly there from the road. Unfortunately I didn’t mark any landmarks for that entrance! We had trouble following the trail, in case that wasn’t obvious. There was broken windshield glass where we parked but we didn’t have any issues.
The trail was extremely muddy and slippery, and poorly marked. There were so many off-shoot trails that looked just as wide and well-worn as the main trail, so we got off course a few times. Unfortunately I hadn’t read the reviews here (juts read about the trail online) to see that the waterfalls and pool were just off the trail, not somewhere on the loop. Would highly recommend the map be updated. But it was beautiful!
Map on Alltrails is just a map of the loop. Doesn't show exactly where any waterfall is. stick to your right and you'll see a waterfall. if you go straight, it'll just take you around the loop. Also, there's a waterfall as soon as you begin the trail to the left.
The hike was beautiful. Muddy but very fun. The only negative was that our car was broken into. We had nothing of value in the car but someone still smashed in our front passenger window. Be careful if you do this hike. The glass all over the side of the road should have been a sign.
Muddy trail. It was pretty cool crossing the stream to get to the other side. Overall, easygoing hike.
fun well marked trail. we went to the right after the stream and it was a gradual climb up and down. if you go straight, it'll be steeper but just as fun.
Awesomeness! Has everything you desire and deserve to see! Good times!
