We are tourists from Minnesota. The trail was doable with my group who were mostly inexperienced hikers. The trail was very muddy, but we did not notice any bugs. Out of 6 hikers, four of us took a stubble/slip in the mud. Be sure to record your hike on the app, because the trail isn’t marked very well and it is easy to stray from the trail and not realize it. Definitely a hike you should wear boots for or good traction shoes; it was very slick. Not too busy with people and we went on a Friday afternoon.

HikingMuddy

We went in early January. The trail was very muddy although we persevered until the falls (would have been pretty easy without kids and with hiking boots). We found a swimming hole and falls that were beautiful (but maybe not the ones in these pictures?!), and once there we crossed the stream and then were shown a super easy and quick way directly there from the road. Unfortunately I didn’t mark any landmarks for that entrance! We had trouble following the trail, in case that wasn’t obvious. There was broken windshield glass where we parked but we didn’t have any issues.

The trail was extremely muddy and slippery, and poorly marked. There were so many off-shoot trails that looked just as wide and well-worn as the main trail, so we got off course a few times. Unfortunately I hadn’t read the reviews here (juts read about the trail online) to see that the waterfalls and pool were just off the trail, not somewhere on the loop. Would highly recommend the map be updated. But it was beautiful!

Map on Alltrails is just a map of the loop. Doesn't show exactly where any waterfall is. stick to your right and you'll see a waterfall. if you go straight, it'll just take you around the loop. Also, there's a waterfall as soon as you begin the trail to the left.

The hike was beautiful. Muddy but very fun. The only negative was that our car was broken into. We had nothing of value in the car but someone still smashed in our front passenger window. Be careful if you do this hike. The glass all over the side of the road should have been a sign.

The water fall is beautiful! Make the first right after crossing the stream to get straight to the waterfall. If you continue straight, the trail continues for a mile until you loop back to the waterfall.

Muddy trail. It was pretty cool crossing the stream to get to the other side. Overall, easygoing hike.

fun well marked trail. we went to the right after the stream and it was a gradual climb up and down. if you go straight, it'll be steeper but just as fun.

Mosquitos were in full force, bring bug spray! Quite muddy & slippery but nothing the roots can’t help you navigate! There is a whole bunch of broken glass on the road where you park, clearly they have a lot of break ins. The waterfall was nice to see!

One of the most kid friendly trails. Nice easy and mostly flat trail with a small water fall. There is one stream crossing you will need to do twice. My 5 year old and 3 year old did great. Check out my video: https://youtu.be/Jlji04jX93w

Not bad conditions given the rain. A little muddy, but was expecting that. Took my dog along with no issues. Make sure to look at the trail map before you go as you may be tempted to turn onto one of the more difficult hikes by accident
