Judd Trail is a 1 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This hike has only side street parking. Please use caution in preventing theft by taking valuables with you.
Easy hike, I suggest for beginners! Was fun but very muddy and there are a couple of different routes you can walk. Wear your hiking shoes so you don’t slide (:
Super muddy, but so amazing! Easy lil hike with an awesome swimming spot. There’s a natural slide and jumping rock too!!
Ignore the miles I forgot to turn it off and drove away. Fun, but muddy
Great hike/climb. Lots of sketchy ridges and quite a few rope burn opportunities on top. Taking the left or west route is hard to locate the start point it’s just to the right of the water plant thing and isn’t well marked just use the GPS and it will get you close. The first 1/2 mile is an ass whippin. Then it gets fun with lots of bouldering and low level climbing.
Muddy when raining. Wear shoes with traction because branches and rocks can be slippery. Also recommend swearing old shoes, they will get dirty !!!!
Loved this trail! It was a little muddy but the forest was beautiful and serene. Crowded at the waterfall/ swimming holes but everyone was kind and respectful of space! It was a really good experience. Your shoes are going to get wet and you’ll probably be muddy but that’s part of the fun!
Beautiful trees and lots of running water! This is a very easy hike if you stick strictly to the trail and don’t try to get down to the swimming hole. If it has been rainy, getting down to the water is a little more tricky due to the mud and slick rocks, but would still be manageable for most people. Be prepared to get muddy and wet. I would suggest a dry bag and shoes with lots of traction.
We are tourists from Minnesota. The trail was doable with my group who were mostly inexperienced hikers. The trail was very muddy, but we did not notice any bugs. Out of 6 hikers, four of us took a stubble/slip in the mud. Be sure to record your hike on the app, because the trail isn’t marked very well and it is easy to stray from the trail and not realize it. Definitely a hike you should wear boots for or good traction shoes; it was very slick. Not too busy with people and we went on a Friday afternoon.
We went in early January. The trail was very muddy although we persevered until the falls (would have been pretty easy without kids and with hiking boots). We found a swimming hole and falls that were beautiful (but maybe not the ones in these pictures?!), and once there we crossed the stream and then were shown a super easy and quick way directly there from the road. Unfortunately I didn’t mark any landmarks for that entrance! We had trouble following the trail, in case that wasn’t obvious. There was broken windshield glass where we parked but we didn’t have any issues.
The trail was extremely muddy and slippery, and poorly marked. There were so many off-shoot trails that looked just as wide and well-worn as the main trail, so we got off course a few times. Unfortunately I hadn’t read the reviews here (juts read about the trail online) to see that the waterfalls and pool were just off the trail, not somewhere on the loop. Would highly recommend the map be updated. But it was beautiful!

Hi! We updated the trail and added a waypoint for the pools to make it easier to find, thanks for the heads up!
