More of a viewpoint than hike but worth it! If it’s cloudy encourage to be patient as cloud cover can move quickly!

The sound of bees is all you’ll hear as you approach the crater on a volcanic overlook. Trade winds keep rolling clouds at the horizon. Short excursion well worth the serenity of the vista.

Short little trail with good views at end. I thought the other overlook and summit trail views were better.

Beautiful views of Maui and the sunrise. Going in at 8am we had a clear view of town. Heading out the clouds rolled in. Easy and short hike to take in the Haleakalā air. Good for kids

Easy trail offering wonderful views of the crater when it’s not foggy. There is a tiny shelter for protection from wind at the end. Parking can get tricky during peak hours.

There are much better views of Haleakala. I do not recommend it.

suggest to go at sunset. It was breathtaking. you're literally above the clouds. got crazy crowded the closer to sunset. definitely stay for stargazing. also, it is freakishly quiet up there. no, bird, bug, water, car, or plane noise. You only hear quiet chatter of visitors. Wear a sweater and pants. it gets super cold.

Hidden gem! A pleasant surprise in the end. Easy. A bit rocky. We made it with a toddler in the carrier.

Short walk to an overlook. Cool view of the weather is on your side. We had high winds but it was worth it to get out of the car on the way up to the summit. Easy walk.

Short trail to the lookout. Weather was not on our side today but still enjoyed the leg stretch and the glimpse of what was to come.

While driving up it began to pour. Unfortunately we didn't have any views. Trail is extremely short and a bit boring. May try again when it's clear.
