Kaanapali Trail is a 4.4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Great “trail” (really a boardwalk) for a morning run. No elevation change, but a long stretch of great views of the ocean and resorts.
Lots of tourists, lost the path a bit a few times, but plenty of places to stop (shop, restaurants, bathroom, beach) along the way for those who want to.
This is a great walk along mostly beach. It is a board walk with some paved portions thru hotels and cottages. The “Beach Walk” sign show you where to go when the trail wanders away from the beach. There are several spots to access the beach or to switch to walking on the beach if you prefer. I enjoyed the sights, the hotels and restaurants and the friendly people along the trail.
Nice place along the beach. At one point u have to bypass via hotels.
Awful trail, great beach. The trail behind many expensive resorts which otherwise block public access to the beach. The beach is not passable at high tide so you’d have to use the boardwalk which seems to be owned by the hotels. And felt oddly uninviting.
Walked this trail at 6:30 a.m. with a large group of folks with varying ages all the way to Black Rock and back to the Ka’anapali Beach Club. Running or walking shoes are recommended. Mostly exposed to the sun but for a few stretches of shade from trees, so definitely wear a hat and other protective wear if you’re sensitive to the sun. Enjoy views of the resorts along the trail, ocean, beach, and take in all that fresh island air.
