Short hike down to beautiful Kauai Beach. A few miles south of Kilauea town turn towards the ocean where you see the Kilauea Farm sign on N. Wailapa Road. Youll drive to the end and then turn left on the dirt road that ends at the beach overlook. Make sure belongings are in the trunk. At the overlook there are two trails. The easier one to the left goes to spectacular Waiakalua Beach. Its steep but not as much as the trail is to Pilaa Beach. Allow 5-10 minutes to reach Waiakalua Beach or 30 minutes on the Pilaa Beach trail. Waiakalua Beach - a great place to snorkel in summer. The beach is seldom used and provides wonderful moments of relaxation.

Secluded and gorgeous. Good to have hiking sticks for steep descent. We stayed on the left side trail. Beach to the right hike looked nice too but more overgrowth of plants across trail. I think that is Pilaa
