Trail was very interesting, not sure too crowded, but not very well marked. it was basically an open lava field.
Great short trail with cool lava formations. Awesome for families. The ahu (markers) are a bit tough to identify in places so following the trail map on your phone will ensure you don’t get off track.
Started on the main trail and then went off at marker 12 at the suggestion of the NPS volunteer and hiked to the top of Mauna Unu crater. It was very windy but the 360 degree view was stunning.
