Saw some reviews that said it was a 3.4 mile hike which for us turned into a 5.0 mile hike. Took longer than expected but I enjoyed this. It rained throughout the entire hike which actually made it more bearing. I would definitely do it again

Decent quick hike up the mauka. A little rainy today which left several must spots that are easily avoidable. You can choose left or right at the marker, I typically go right so the end of the trail IA all up.

Went when it was pouring and had a hard time finding where the trail continued on. It it wasn’t for me having the gps trail going I would have been really lost! Also a wild bore ran across the path!

Very family friendly trail with lots of kids and dogs. Recommend hiking it early in the morning for bird listening and watching and to avoid the clouds, which usually roll in late morning or early afternoon.

Enjoyable rambling, there are some steep sections, particularly the spur to the east. The straight sections on the loop run along a fence and are fairly easy going.

This is a great hike with very lush forest! It can be very muddy in some areas after a good rain. Lots a greenery and different trails you can take. Would say it’s a pretty easy one but prepare for your shoes to get nice and muddy! Great hike to stop and take pictures of all the beautiful ferns.

This was a great hike! Surprisingly very wooded, compared to a lot of the other hikes in this area, which tend to be more exposed. We did a clockwise outer loop, starting with the steep uphill to the right of the trailhead - about 4 miles out, then 4 miles back along the same route. 3.5 hours to knock out that 8 mile stretch. Started early to avoid the rain. I’m surprised this isn’t a more popular route. No bugs, well maintained path, highly recommended.

We took the outer most circle of trails. It was 3.38 miles at an average pace of 24 minute miles. We started up the first right, going up immediately. The trails were well marked, but a lot of roots and loose rocks. Not for small children for sure. Beautiful canopy, lots of pig sign. The ‘bottom’ trail was essentially a Jeep trail. That one was easy traveling. Glad we did it!

Did this hike 2 days after a downpour and it was very muddy. Would not list it as easy, especially with kids. Definitely suggest starting on the left and going straight up, the switchbacks are much easier going down then trying to go down a steep muddy rocky hill. Also lots of roots, kids trip easily. Sad their was no view of the ocean from the top. Nice and shady and dewy, so even hot outside it’s a pleasant hike.
