Ala Mauka Makai is a 1.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Kailua Kona, Hawaii, Hawaii that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips.
January 20, 2021A great walk on a cloudy day. Beautiful and peaceful. Did not see turtles this time.
December 16, 2020A beautiful secret beach. You would never know from the head of the trail just what you will find at the end. Avoid heat of the day.
August 1, 2019February 5, 2019Nice easy to follow trail with some petroglyphs. Ends at the beach, a nice place to hang and maybe see a sea turtle. Nice little bit of Hawaiian culture and history along the trail.
