Easy paved trail through lush jungle vegetation with views of waterfalls. Great if you want to stretch your legs and check out a ton of Hawaiian flora. The walk through the jungle was just as impressive as the falls.

It’s a nice nature walk. Due to COVID-19, the trail is open, however, the parking lot is closed. You will need to park outside street parking. Lots of stairs. Wear comfortable footwear. Easy walking trail.

Akaka Falls is a must see if you are in Hilo. The hike is short, paved, easy and underwhelming ...I wished it was longer! You will see a good variety of rainforst plant life on the short walk, however. The falls are very beautiful, but overall the trail is overcrowded with tourists. DO NOT park in the parking lot ($5). Park on the road and pay $1. Lock valuables in your trunk, or leave them home.

Easy going hike that’s paved. You get to see two major waterfalls and some other small ones. One of the highlights was the massive banyan tree in between the two falls IG: hikin_hawaii

An easy stroll down a paved walking path. Some uphill/downhill, some stairs, paved the entire way. The waterfall was beautiful, despite being overcast and rainy when we went; definitely worth the stop. Parking is $5, there is an attendant at the top of the walking path; exact change only.

Easy trail, paved entire way, very narrow and hard to pass. Very crowded relative to all the other trails we did. Waterfall is cool but trail doesn't really get close to it and viewing areas are crowded. Wife and I agree that this one was a dud, especially considering the majesty of all the other trails we did.
