went to the swim hole instead of falls today. Went at about 8, had the place to ourselves. little to no mud. 5yr old had a blast with the hike and the swimming hole.
Rainy season so it was muddy. Not too bad. I imagine it can be a lot worse. The trail splits off in a few locations after the Jeep but all lead you to the same place. If you go straight at the Jeep you can have some fun on a mountain bike (nothing that great though) but it won’t lead anywhere from what I could tell
Fairly easy trail with ropes to help you down some of the more steeper areas when you get down near the falls.
The hike was really enjoyable. It was challenging, but not unbearable. However, it was really muddy and slick. I would not suggest going after it rains. The view of the falls was well worth the hike. The trail can also be kind of confusing and has many forks. Always stay left and you’ll make it to the falls just fine.
Slick from the rain but made the payoff at the falls that much better!
Hike was excellent. Good cardio and the falls was majestic. The elevation is even and goes downhill the closer get to the falls so prepare a good amount of water going back up because that's good cardio. Si Yu'os Ma'åse guella yan guello for allowing me to travel to this land.
Muddy in the beginning and mostly flat until you pass the windmill. Then it starts to go downhill. Lots of different ways to get to the bottom. Following the AllTrails map worked out great to keep us on the best path. Cross the river on top of the falls to get down to the bottom. There is a rope along the side nearest the falls to help with the steep footing. Enjoy!
Gets pretty steep in some spots. Wear good shoes. Short hike, plenty of shade. The falls aren't really impressive, I personally enjoyed sitting on top of the falls in the shade to cool off before heading back up. We brought our two dogs and they had a great time splashing in the creek at the top of the falls. We did go down to the bottom. However, it's pretty muddy and the actual pool where the waterfall drops is murky, rocky, and shallow. Rocks can be very slick so be careful! :-)
Fun and quick in-and-out hike. When you reach the top of the falls, veer to the left to cross the waterway so you can proceed down to the bottom of falls and get better views. There was one slightly bent and hidden arrow sign to indicate this. You could go farther down the falls to see the pool slanted as an optical illusion. Only downsize about this hike is that signage is almost nonexistent. Initially walk along the fence and around to the left on backside of the wind tower.
