An all-time favorite hike. Nothing but views the whole way. Can't miss on a trip to Santorini. Watch out for the wind.

One of the most amazing hikes of my life! Not easy, but well worth it. Went on September afternoon, arrived after dark, sunset views from the top of the island were incredible. Barely met any other hikers.

Beautiful! Took forever like 5 hours, we walked to the tip and ate lunch. It took all day, wear workout clothes and hiking shoes! We are 3 women who hike all the time in mountains, do CrossFit and spin class and did this wearing danskos, Keds, and nobulls. Not smart, dress right and you will be in heaven with amazing views! Bring water and wear sunscreen!

Scenic Hike! Started the hike from Fira and it took a little time to get on the right track as there were no markings. A lot of wrong turns but finally figured it out. It took about 4 hours to complete but the views were worth it. The view generally stays the same, passing along the different towns. Overall it was exhausting at the end, had to refill water towards the mid way and came across a lovely small church. The man guarding, was so sweet and even offered us juice. One of the memorable hikes for a first time in Greece.

Awesome trail! Definitely best to do early morning there was not many people and the temperature was perfect! There are hills to go up but this is a very well maintained and complete trek with great views!

We took this trail while on vacation. I can say this was the most beautiful trail we have ever taken. There were beautiful views of the Sea, small towns and an end at the town of Oia. Highly recommend if you have time and enjoy a longer hike.

One of my favorite hikes in the world. Recommend timing walk to arrive in Oia at sunset. Incredible caldera views throughout the hike.

Honestly, I’ve done quiet a few trails I found this one to be a little overrated. It had views for sure but they are the exact same view you can see from any other part of the island. There were parts were it was a little difficult but my 75 year old grandma was able to do it with us so you will probably be able to do it just fine. Overall I found it to be a waste of time while I was on vacation in such a beautiful place I would have rather spent the time at a beach or eating the delicious seafood available.

This is mostly a urban hike. You’re sharing the path with tourists trying to shop and get to their restaurants for good part of the way. If you look to your other side though, you’re on cliffs with an amazing view of the ocean and the little white constructions on the mountains. Can get very hot, but they sell water pretty much all the way long - since there’s restaurants and snack bars along the way. Even though is mostly urban don’t try to make on your flip flops (that was my first feeling) because it gets to points that it’s all dirt with rocks and you can easily hurt yourself if not wearing appropriate shoes (or at least is not going to be comfortable at all). Also I just went to Oia (5 miles something) and then you can get a bus back to Fira there. It costs about 1,80$. The locals can inform about where it stops. I expected more nature but in the end I was happy I did.

Great views all along the caldera. I would say it took us around 3:20 to walk from Fira to Oia with a few stops. Great reco on grabbing orange juice as you make your way to oia (3km out). It’s a small snack hut where the road meets the path again. Wear closed toed shoes as parts of the path are rocky and sandy. No flip flops. One way is all you need. We opted for the bus back (expect a line!) and didn’t stop for the mt climb detour near firastina bc we were pressed for time.

Stunning views, and an easy trek. Make sure to bring water, as it’s bound to be a scorcher. There’s a big rock (maybe an old fortress?) close to the water, and you can walk up to it. We saw people walking on top, so we climbed. It wasn’t a wise decision (and notably involved free climbing). It definitely is not meant to be climbed. Easy enough to get up top, but coming down was treacherous. I would not recommend doing that climb. The view is just as beautiful if you follow the trail. We only went one way, and decided to enjoy our evening in Oia. There are busses that can bring you back to Thira, but make sure to go early, as they pack-up quick. There’s a stunning cliff jumping rock in Oia (near-by). Ask the locals, they’ll be able to direct you there. It’s definitely worth it. (May 2017)

Best hike i ever took! The trail is paved in areas, gravel in others. Also a bit of walking along the road and some steep climbs. There is little to no shade along the route. The views are amazing!!! I highly recommend this hike!

Hike between two of the main towns on Santorini. Great views during the walk. It’s very popular. Lots of people on the trail. A couple of sections that you have to walk on the road. But overall great walk and nice to get away from the crowded streets of Oia and Fira.
