Gentle walk down the south coast. Could do with some more prominent signage, ended up following goat trails a couple times and had to double back. Great views from the high points and fantastic taverna (Dialeskari) towards the end

We went from Loutro only as far as Marmara Beach. It’s a tricky route with lots of steep ascents and scrambling along the cliff side. I have to admit we didn’t think it would be quite so difficult. There is another way that takes you along the road but we opted for the cliff side - not sure if that was such a good decision! It is truly beautiful and memorable. It’s also good advice to start very early. We left Loutro at 7am and got to Marmara at 8.45. It was already really hot. We then got a water taxi to take us back to Loutro.

Nice hike! Start early, it gets hot as there is no shelter as you go around the promontory. When you descent from the cliff to the first beach Marmara Beach, you are still a long way from Loutro! When you think you’ve arrived, keep going as you trek across to the opposite side of the headland. When you emerge from the gate with a sign that says Marmara Beach, turn left to follow the trail to avoid a detour into Finikas. Easy and enjoyable hike, some moderate exposure as you descend the final cliff to Marmara Beach. Loutro is a little seaside village nestled into soaring peaks, painted all blue and white as Greek villages do.

Excellente randonnée, très beau paysage. Seulement je conseille de partir avant 7h en été, il n’y a pas d’ombre et il fait extrêmement chaud !

Lovely coastal trail along steep mountain sides that plunge into the Libyan sea. You'll encounter a fair amount of gravel for most of the way and you'll be under a forest canopy for only about a quarter of the way. In early May the temperature was perfect for hiking. Although there's little elevation change along the way, I would rate this trail as moderate due to the total distance, rugged terrain and steepness of some sections.
