From Ilsenburg, following the course of the Ilse, the hike starts from the parking lot. The path leads through a beautiful climbing area, where the daredevil, equipped with crockery, can climb or shimmy over various high-level courses through the Harz forest. The Ilse is one of the lesser known, but very beautiful rivers of the northern Harz. Her ferruginous water rushes over rocks and tripping over the gravel; Heinrich Heine, whose traces you follow here, called her a princess, sometimes rushing wild, sometimes on tiptoe through the forests of the Harz downhill. Follow the river uphill, past waterfalls and beautiful bridges, climb over one or the other, and finally arrive at a treeless plain. Right it goes on to Brocken, one of the most beautiful Brockenbesteigungen ever starts here. On the left is the excursion restaurant Plessenburg, a dining and game restaurant with a long tradition and attentive staff, which also conjures something for the vegetarian guest on the plate. The way back is over beautiful cliffs and rock formations, including the Ilsestein, and then on milder terrain back to the car park. Just below the parking lot, the nail maker invites you for coffee and cake or a hearty snack. Under the Ilsenburg and at a Schwank pond, you can sit here very nice and relax, to show photos, play a game double head. The strawberry cake is also recommended!
