The path invites you to discover the Dörenther cliffs. The rocks of sandstone pile up over 40 m high and allow a stunning view over the whole Münsterland. The Dörenther cliffs were created 140 million years ago as sandbanks and deposits of a primeval sea. Route From the trail parking lot "Dörenther cliffs" on the B219, it goes first past the campsite, then the path branches off to the left. A narrow, steep path leads up shady through mixed forest. Now it's easy on a wide forest road to the cemetery. This commemorates the 3rd April 1945. At that time Allied troops crossed the Dörenther cliffs and there was fierce fighting. Since 2003, the Dörenther cliffs with its surrounding forest stands have been designated a nature reserve. At the big mushroom there is the possibility to abbreviate (right downwards). If you want to continue, go left over stone and stone in the direction of Bocketal. The path remains in the valley and reaches the trail parking lot "Im Bocketal" (2nd entry way into the path). From the trail parking lot "Im Bocketal" wait behind the tennis court several Rastbänke. A detour (about 300 m) invites you to stop in the inns of the village. On the fruit trail, the Hermannsweg is reached, which leads steeply up to the Königstein and Dreikaiserstuhl, the towering rocks in the southeastern part of the Dörenther cliffs. Frequently, the climbers can be watched here. The path again reaches the Rastpilz, continue on the left downhill. Passing beautiful pastures and stand-alone farmsteads, the trail follows the Teutoburg Forest. Then it goes again uphill towards Dörenther cliffs, the highlight of the tour. Before, the alpine hut beckons to stop. If you do not like to climb over rocks, visit the observation balcony above the alpine hut. A few meters after the hut, the path leads along the rocky path to the legendary rock "Crouching Woman", probably the best-known rock cliff, and the other rocks. Passing the campsite, the trail leads back to the hiking car park "Dörenther Klippen".
