Starting point of the hike is the market in the city center of Schleiden, the former district town on the river Olef. The tour leads on an east and west loops over the heights of the Schleidener valley and can be shortened after about half of the distance. It has only a small proportion of asphalt. First, go over the Sturmius Bridge to the Pestkapelle. Here is worth a visit to the Eifel-view Ruppenberg (about 200 m). Over beautiful forest trails it goes steadily uphill to Kradenbacher Cross and on to Kerperscheid. On the ridge you have a first-class panoramic view over the Eifel Heights. Downhill it goes on natural paths to Wiesgen. Here you cross the Olef and hike through the wooded Hellesbachtal to Bronsfeld. Through a nature reserve, it goes downhill into the chamber forest and finally along the Dieffenbachtals to Schleiden Castle and back to the starting point.
