Start the hike at the National Park Gate in Rurberg. Cross the Eiserbachdamm and the Paulushof dam is to the left. At the end of the dam, a narrow path begins that leads up to the Honigberg. Follow the path that gets narrower and narrower until you reach the Paulushof rest area. Here, there are a few seating areas if you want to take a rest. Follow the signs for "Hirschley" at the crossroads and after a few hundred meters you will come to the viewpoint. From here you have a unique view of the Rursee and the surrounding high altitude resorts. Follow the path for about 600 meters until you turn left at the next intersection on the way to the lakeshore. After the trail has meandered for 1km, it follows the slope for 1km in a long curve. At the hairpin bend follow the path towards Rurberg. For over 3.5 km, the path continues to the Rursee before you get back to the Paulushof dam. If you turn right after a few steps, you will be back at the starting point.
