Start your hike at the Heilsteinhaus in Einruhr. Take a few steps downhill and turn left onto the "Rurstraße" which you follow to the entrance to the village. At the entrance to the village, cross the road and take the hiking trail on the opposite side over the small bridge. After approx. 15 m, follow the "Rur-Olef-Route" to the left for the next few kilometers. Above the village of Erkensruhr follow the path that mainly runs as a narrow path in the hillside, until you come to the creek "Erkensruhr" and the small bridge. Here you cross the Erkensruhr and pass the "Waldstube" in Hirschrott. Above the "Waldstube" you leave the "Rur-Olef-Route" and follow the trail 29 along the Waldkapelle to the Gierbach and continue to the Bundesstraße 266. Attention: here you have to walk left for about 100 meters along the road to get over the sidewalk to first entry after Einruhr. Along the Heilsteinstraße and the Rurstraße you reach your starting point at the Heilsteinhaus.
