The monastery route fascinates visitors with its extraordinary diversity. Landmarks such as the imposing rocks of the Ehrensteinsley, the romantic Rurtal, species-rich forest passages, the spacious pastures around Kalterherberg with old beech rows and hawthorn hedges, as well as the Perlenbachtalsperre guarantee a varied landscape enjoyment. Typical flower and plant species line the way. A secret tip is the daffodil slope near Reichenstein, which turns into a yellow sea of flowers in spring. A cultural highlight among the numerous sights is the former Premonstratensian Reichenstein Abbey with its water lily pond. The start of the hike is in Monschau, Glashütte an der Rur.
