The 58th edition of Eschborn-Frankfurt offers the pros a custom selective course through the Taunus. The WorldTour race is in line with the great spring classics in the international cycling calendar. Only three days after the Liege-Bastogne-Liège Ardennes monument, the professionals can look forward to challenges on 1 May. 187.5 kilometers long and peppered with 3,222 meters of altitude, the bike classic will live up to its name again. The Taunusrunde, which was redesigned last year, has proven itself and will be driven this year in a slightly different sequence. In addition to the Feldberg, the race again leads four times over the Mammolshainer Stich and twice over the Ruppertshainer Rise and once over the Billtalhöhe. In 2018, the most traditional German one-day race was marked by many attacks and its outcome until the final very open. New home straight The race decision in the cycling classic falls on a new Mainschleife in Frankfurt this year. Coming from Eschborn, the elite drivers reach the Main metropole and cross the Main on the Untermain bridge. Directly on the river, it goes back over the Schaumainkai to the Old Bridge and on the other side of the river with a view of the Frankfurt skyline. After the passage between Römer and Eiserner Steg, the pros reach the Neue Mainzer Straße. Via the Grüneburgweg the drivers turn onto the Reuterweg and drive towards the finish line at the Alte Oper. The new finish round is 6.5 kilometers long and is used two and a half times.
