The hike starts in Bad Arolsen at Kirchplatz. Numerous parking spaces are available and also the train station is not far away. From Korbach and Wolfhagen trains run every hour. First you walk through the baroque Schlossstraße with some shops. Then you follow the Great Avenue and continue in the middle of the Fürstenallee along the edge of the forest. You cross the federal road and follow the cycle path to Wetterburg. On paved road you walk past the 9-hole golf course ( and can even play golf on Sundays for an hour from 11.00 - 12.00 clock to try out. At the beach ( you reach the Twistesee. At the beach you can swim for free or rent a pedal boat or rowboat and explore the lake with a dry foot. You turn to the right and then come to the water ski facility ( Young and old can have a lot of fun here with water skiing and wakeboarding. Knowledgeable, trained staff will give beginners a briefing. There is a grandstand for the onlookers and the sun terrace invites guests to linger at the kiosk. Afterwards, you will pass the kiosk again on the Bundestrasse and can enjoy a break on the adjacent meadow or jump into the cool water from a pontoon. On your further hike, it is now through the forest always slightly up and down. Shortly before the dam you reach the next lawn with barbecue. You cross the dam and walk through Wetterburg, then via Aussiedlerhöfe and a small grove we reach the Schlossteich. Via the Mannelstrasse you return to our starting point.
