Start of the hike is the pier on the Main-Danube Canal. On the bank of the canal in a westerly direction, then turn south on the old Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal. Then up to the liberation hall (first left past the hall to buy the tickets 300 meters further). Follow the path no. II in the direction of Weltenburg, always through the forest. After the Celtic Wall (junction with the Altmühltal-Panoramaweg) down to the banks of the Danube. With the Zille or the ferry to the monastery Weltenburg translate. After visiting the monastery (and the beer garden), return with the Zille / Fähre. From now follow the signs of the Altmühltal panorama path uphill. At the top, turn right and take the viewpoint. Turn around again and from here it goes in a northerly direction about 3, 3 km along the Celtic Wall. The wall meanders across the landscape, which often means uphill and downhill. The descent to Altmühltal is short and steep. Continue along the Main-Danube Canal to Essinger Bridge. At the end of the bridge turn left immediately down to the canal. Follow the cycle path to the pier.
