Beautiful trail. We did about 80% of it and turned around because we discovered that the gondola from the top closed at 5pm. That and the biergarten close early. The other reviews are correct about the famous bridge overlooking Neuschwanstein castle: there is a long line to get on it. Even off-season we had to wait about ten minutes, and the bridge itself was crowded. The payoff from ascending even ten minutes' walk above the bridge is tremendous: great views of the castle that look like helicopter shots.

Awesome views of the Neuschwanstein Castle and Alpsee Lake, I would 100% recommend it. Note that the elevation is about a 1000m. You should definitely hit the trail early otherwise you'll have to wait a long time to go across the bridge.

We took the Tegelbergbahn to the top of Tegelberg and descended the trail. Amazing scenery. The trail narrows in many spots. There are several spots that require scrambling down rock faces. Many of the switchbacks are eroded. NOTE: Elevation is NOT a gain, but a descent of over 3000 feet! Search for "Uncl3Mik3Mik3 Trail Away" on YouTube.

Beautiful views of the surrounding area. Worth fighting the crowds going to the castle. Definitely go early if possible, and you'll cruise up to the trailhead.

Must do for great views of the Neuschwanstein Castle and Alpsee. Leaving the crowd behind on Marienbruke, the trail continues uphill to the gondola and beer garden! Pretty views of the surrounding Alps including Zugspitze. Start early morning if you want to do all on foot in a single day.

Woodsy direct path back to Hohenschwangau after the bridge view of the castle - this omits the loop around the castle. A number of people hike this trail up and down or just down from the Tegelberg (taking the cable car up). We did the latter. Some rocky sections & downed trees to climb over, but phenomenal views of the Ammer Mountains & Neuschwanstein.
