We started the hike at 7:30 and it didn’t take as long as I thought it would. At the top we continued on past the bridge and hiked up a trail off to the left side, which took us even further to the top of the mountain and great views of the castle. I didn’t start my recording when I started my hike and I paused and forgot to restart it, so the recording isn’t reflective my whole hike.

Best I’ve ever been on. Mary’s bridge is a must, but also go further to a higher look out about 10 mins

One of the dopest trails to a dope ass castle. Worth the incline to do the walk.

Highly recommend as the way to visit Neuschwanstein. Marienbrucke itself is very packed but if you continue up the path, there are really good look-out points with hardly any traffic.

The trail was clearly marked, but a considerable uphill climb. The Marienbrucke Bridge, well, I had no trouble crossing, no 90 minute wait. I got straight across. Sadly, it was raining.

This is the trail for great views of the castle, but I recommend to go early, 7am is great. Otherwise the crowds become overwhelming by 9am when the castle opens. Unfortunately you need to cross the touristy bridge to get to the trail. I’ve heard of over 90 min waits to get on the bridge.

So crowded. Go past Mary’s bridge and continue hiking. Crowds lighten and you get an amazing view of the castle

Extremely crowded up to the bridge, but worth the view if you stick it out past to the rocky outcrops.

in terms of potential, its great...awesome views, and ofcourse the castle...BUT, all the tourists! Line to see the bridge was approx 90min. If you take the paved road to the top, you will experience heavy human traffic and many landmines swarming with flies left behind by all the horse carriages...I will go back, to explore other trails and trails nearby, but my advice is to stay away from the paved road and rather use AllTrails and find secondary paths (that seems to be used by folks riding their mountain bikes).

Did this around sunrise when fog was still hovering above the ground and it was magical, no crowds this early. Steep incline to get up there, but well worth it. The castle looks like a fairy tale and there's a wooden bridge near the top that's great for pictures. Seeing the outside of the castle was enough! Didn't even have an interest going inside since it's unfinished.

Took the horse and buggy up (wouldn't recommend sitting in the first seat behind the horse with driver). We rode up but walked down. Lots of tourists, didn't make the latter leg with the bridge. Overall a must see.
