The trail starts in Wüstenrot in the Franconian Swabian nature park. Wüstenrot can be reached by bus from Bretzfeld and Schwäbisch Hall every 2 hours on weekends. At the beginning you get information about the Bauspar museum in Wüstenrot via the audio guide. Shortly thereafter, we reach the bird of prey plantation on Spatzenwald (www.gemeinde-wuestenrot.de) and a high ropes course. Via the marking blue dot of the Swabian Albverein we reach the former silver gallery. Here we learn again about the audio guide details about this natural monument. On the connecting path from the silver tunnel to the Wellingtonia, the "ladder of heaven" has to be conquered, a Douglas fir tree trunk from which 66 steps were worked out. On our further hiking trail, the tree giants welcome us at Wellingtonienplatz (www.gemeinde-wuestenrot.de). These are 100-year-old sequoias that were imported and planted in 1865 by King William of America. A barbecue and football pitch with several seats and huts invite you to rest. In 200m distance is a spring, which also feeds the Wassertretbecken. A relaxing walk through the water, refreshes our feet. Afterwards we take a leisurely downhill walk, pass the serpentine-like route to the outskirts of Spangenbach, cross the road and walk uphill to the Greuthof. A steep, natural path brings us again to a country road. Now we have to gain altitude again in the area of the Löwensteiner Mountains in order to reach the Löwenstein Clinic via forest and forest roads. Left at the clinic, it goes down towards Löwenburg. Just before the finish we can enjoy a wonderful view and eat our provisions at the rest area above the castle. We visit the castle (www.stadt-loewenstein.de) and then walk into the place Löwenstein to the bus stop.
