Often called the Grand Canyon of France, this canyon-view track follows along the Verdon River. The trek starts out at Point Sublime and ends at Maline Chalet. There is ample parking for approximately 50 cars. Make sure to bring cash. If you complete the whole track, you will end the hike very far away from your car. You can choose to take a bus or a taxi back to the main parking lot, or take the bus initially and make the trek toward your parked car. The trek is long, but is for the most part along a shaded, wide path. There are many portions, however that are quite difficult including winding and narrow paths, little to no railing, and several very steep stairs. There are spots where a headlamp or flashlight is essential. Dogs are prohibited on this trail. Children are allowed, but it is recommended not to bring them as this is a long and challenging journey.

I made this trek this summer with my wife and our children 9 years and 7 years .. This was difficult, it takes in normal time 6:30 to make this part of the GR4 15km, including stops (picnic, swimming) we we put 10h !! pay attention 2L of water per person minimum and be well equipped in shoes of excursions !! We had left the car at the Sublime Bridge so we took the bus which took us to the creepy start point! The mission was therefore for us and our children to "find the car" at all costs! There are really difficult passages with ramps anchored in the rock to hold you so as not to fall into the void .. it goes up it goes down in all directions, it is quite shady, it climbs, climbing limit etc. it is really a hike for the seasoned athletes and we are proud to have done with our children!

Beautiful hike. We did ~8.5 miles in 4h15min + ~20min break at river. Ended up hitching a ride back to sublime with someone leaving there. Bus schedule is limited so if you’re doing that plan timing around it ahead of time. We would’ve hiked back but wanted to enjoy the lake/water of the gorge. Goes up a down each way.... so either way you’d do it would be a good workout. Definitely need a flashlight/phone light for the long caves...maybe ~1/2mile total. So cool!

One of my favourite hikes I’ve ever done. Go early spring or fall, even down in the gorge it will get warm! We went late April and started too late in the day but it was still a lovely hike and lucky for us we did not run into many other hikers so quite serene. Make sure to bring water and have lunch by the water.
