Frejus - Grimaud- Collobrieres (Col de Taillude) is great for road biking and normally takes a full day. The first part of this trip along the coast from Saint Aygulf through Sainte Maxime and on to Port Grimaud is flat with scenic views across the bay to St Tropez. From Port Grimaud head for Grimaud, an ancient hilltop town, then follow the signs for Collobrieres. The 21Km climb to Col de Taillude is not particularly steep as it peaks at 411m which means it is a 400m climb in total. The roads are narrow but well surfaced and in places there are substantial drops directly from the unfenced road. Collobrieres is a lovely town an well worth leaving sufficient time to explore.
