Description
Waypoints (8)

Beautiful in the summer! Kind of got lost but if you’ll find some secret gems along the way where you can have a picnic and take a dip in the refreshing water. Views of the ocean were beautiful. Must see in Marseille!

Did this trail last May. Absolutely fantastic! Hike down to the last calanque was steep so recommend hiking shoes. Bring lunch, water & a swimsuit!

We starten at 9am, took us 2h30 to do all calanques together with our dog (but without going down to the last beach). Wear good walking shoes, it is very very rocky! Take lots of water with you, as it was now 31degrees. Beautiful walk along the see, clear blue water, tough at some moments to climb up the hills but worth it!

Calonque en vau was amazing with crystal clear, blue water and a beautiful view. The rocks are *very* slippery in places. Parts of this trail are difficult. If you venture to the left in the beginning of the hike, it is closed but the signs have been knocked down. We went around them. This part of the trail is doable but you need to take care. Bring plenty of water. The views are spectacular. Come early and bring a suit for a swim. The calonques get crowded by mid morning.

I’m a novice hiker, and my friend was only slightly more experienced. We hiked this trail counterclockwise in sneakers (Nike Free Runs & Nike AirMax) yesterday. We started at the trailhead a little before 8am, arrived at d’en Vau (Calanque 3) at around 9:45am, left at 11:15am, and returned to the trailhead around 1:30pm. The final descent into d’En Vau has many large smooth rocks that can be very slippery, followed by a long but less steep pathway of loose stones, so we took it slow but it wasn’t undoable even with shoes with slippery bottoms. The most difficult part is honestly the midday/afternoon heat, so the earlier you start this hike the better. That said, d’En Vau is completely worth the effort – absolutely gorgeous. The beach started getting swarmed with kayakers/boat tourists at around 10:30, so get going early to beat the crowd! Would recommend 3 litres of water per person.

Gorgeous. Bring towel, book, swimming goggles, and maybe even water shoes. You’ll want to make it to Calanque 3; much less crowded and really beautiful. I recommend to do the hike counterclockwise so that you are pleasantly surprised when you arrive to Calanque 3. If you go clockwise you’ll get a glimpse of it while hiking. I did it in sneakers but wouldn’t have minded my boots, especially when descending down the slippery rocks.

Calanque 1 and 2 are easy. The walk to calanque 3 beach is steep down and up, very loose rocks, scree like but doable in sneakers (didn't pack boots for this trip). Just be careful and take your time. Easily round trip 4 hours Inc a 45 min break for lunch and beach
